We regularly hear our new patients tell us that they have never had an eye examination as thorough as ours here at Graf Medical Eye Care. We routinely diagnose and treat conditions that have not been previously taken care of by other doctors. We take care of difficult medical eye conditions but can also easily prescribe glasses and contact lenses. This is accomplished by using the latest ophthalmological and optometric eye examination techniques. We also enjoy taking time with our patients because we care about them. Our patients become our friends. Call us today at 435-634-0420 to schedule an eye exam in St. George, Utah.
New Services and Technology
Our office uses the high-end technology during your eye exams, including an automated phoropter, which is the latest in eye prescription testing. This machine allows us to show our patients how they will see with their new vision prescription and instantly flip to their old glasses’ prescription for comparison. This allows patients to see if the new prescription will improve their vision enough to merit paying for new glasses. We also have new in-office quick test kits that allow for immediate confirmation of viral eye infections and help us to determine when patients can go back to school or work and not be contagious. We also have the latest neuro vision testing, allowing us to do ERG and VEP testing locally. This is a functional predictive test that helps us to diagnose neuro eye and brain problems that previously would have been referred out to a doctor in Salt Lake City. We are excited to be able to help more people locally and more quickly than was previously possible.
Thorough and Friendly Eye Exams
Dr. Jeffery Graf OD FAAO will take time to answer your questions and explain your diagnosis and the treatment options available. We do not rush patients. We have the technology to record digital pictures of your eyes for you to see in the examination rooms. We were the first in Southern Utah to acquire the ability to record digital retinal images. This ability allows us to overlay the present image with past images in order to find and diagnose eye changes earlier than ever before. Change analysis is best for early detection of diabetic eye disease, vascular retinal changes, tumors, macular degeneration and glaucoma.
Come visit our team to see your own eyes! You can see for yourself if treatments are working. We have been using digital imaging to assist in caring for our patients since 2002 and were the first in Utah to be able to show our patients photos of their own eyes during their examinations. By using advanced digital comparison analysis, we are able to compare the difference from one year or visit to the next and quickly find eye changes before they could be detected by a doctor just looking in your eye.
Eye Exam Instrumentation
One of our newer instruments is a ZEISS CIRRUS® High-Definition Ocular Coherence Tomograph, or OCT. It is the latest technology for imaging the inside of the eye at the cellular level with a resolution of five microns. The newest update has added the ability to statistically compare differences between past and present examinations.
We have also added the ability to scan areas in the front of the eye. We were the first office in Southern Utah to acquire this instrument. We continue to be at the forefront of technology and medical eye care for Southern Utah. We have designed our practice to allow us to review OCT data in our exam rooms with our patients. This helps to keep our patients informed and is an integral part of your care. You get to see with our optometric physician what is happening in your own eyes. This instrument is the premier instrument for testing glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinal disease and, in fact, any macular abnormalities. It can now also test for corneal disorders, iris disorders and anterior angle abnormalities. It is fast, easy, painless and extremely helpful in taking care of patients’ eye conditions.
